Storage Growth Calculator
See roughly when you'll hit your storage limit if nothing changes.
Time until full
10 months
Projected full date: May 2027
Storage rarely fills up overnight — it creeps up a few gigabytes a month until, one day, uploads start failing. This calculator projects that creep forward: given how much you're using today, your total capacity, and a rough monthly growth rate, it estimates how many months you have left and roughly when you'd hit the ceiling.
It's a straight-line projection, not a forecast — growth rate rarely stays perfectly constant — but it's usually close enough to tell you whether you have a year to plan or a month.
How to use it
- 01Enter your total storage capacity and how much you're using today, both in GB.
- 02Enter your estimated growth per month, in GB.
- 03Read the estimated months remaining and the projected date you'd hit capacity.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my monthly growth rate?
Most cloud providers show storage usage history in their account settings or admin console. If you don't have exact numbers, compare usage from a few months ago to today and divide by the number of months — a rough estimate is enough for planning purposes.
This is a straight-line projection — is that realistic?
Not perfectly — usage often grows in bursts (a big project, a phone backup) rather than a smooth line. Treat the result as a directional estimate, not a guarantee, and re-check it every few months.
What can I do to push the date back?
Two options: buy more storage, or clean up what's not earning its space — duplicates and stale files typically make up a meaningful share of any account. Purgify finds both automatically across every cloud account you connect.
