Multiple PDF Pages Per Sheet
Fit more on the page, and use a quarter of the paper.
Printer drivers can do this, badly and differently on every machine. Baking the layout into the PDF itself means the handout looks the same wherever it is printed — and it can be shared as a document rather than a print setting.
Choose how many pages go on each sheet, the paper size, and how much space to leave between them. Optional borders make individual pages easier to read at a glance.
How to use it
- 01Drop in the PDF.
- 02Choose 2, 4, 6 or 9 pages per sheet.
- 03Pick the sheet size and orientation — landscape usually suits 2-up and 6-up.
- 04Apply and download the new document.
Frequently asked questions
Will the text still be readable?
At 2-up and 4-up, usually yes for ordinary body text. At 9-up you are at a quarter of the linear size, which suits slides and diagrams far better than dense paragraphs.
Is the text still selectable afterwards?
Yes. Pages are embedded as vector content and scaled, not rasterised, so text stays selectable and searchable at any size.
Why is there empty space on the last sheet?
Because the page count isn't an exact multiple of the pages per sheet. The remaining slots are simply left blank.
Does it save more paper if I also print double-sided?
Yes, and the two multiply: 4-up plus duplex puts eight original pages on a single sheet of paper. Set duplex in your printer dialog as usual — this tool only changes the document, never your print settings.
